Your first evening in Seoul should be about getting there—not trying to guess whether “a short walk from the subway” really means a short walk. If your hotel is Westin Josun Seoul and your route starts at Myeongdong Station Exit 6, this guide gives you one useful piece of local evidence: a walk I actually made.

On October 31, 2026, I followed this route in the evening. I recorded the starting and finishing times and compared my experience with the distance and time shown on Naver Map. This article is about the outdoor route between those two points. It is not a review of the hotel or a promise that everyone will arrive in the same time.

Quick facts: map estimate versus an actual walk

The map and my recorded walk were close: 11 minutes estimated versus about 12 minutes observed. That is helpful for planning, but there are limits. It was one walk on one evening. It does not measure how long a traveler needs to leave the train, locate Exit 6, pull a suitcase, or complete hotel check-in.

Why the exit number matters

“Near Myeongdong Station” is not a complete walking instruction. Stations can have several exits, and an estimated walking time can change depending on the point from which it is calculated.

For this check, the starting point was specifically Exit 6. If your navigation app sends you to a different exit, you are no longer following the same route that I timed. That does not automatically make the other exit wrong; it means you should compare the live directions with your own needs.

Before leaving the station, confirm the full hotel name and the destination pin. Do not assume a map result is correct because the neighborhood name looks familiar. I would also keep the hotel’s official address available separately, in case you need to check the pin again.

How to follow the route on your own trip

Use this article and its accompanying real footage as a visual reference. Then open a current navigation app for directions on your actual travel date. The video shows what the route looked like on October 31, 2026; it cannot guarantee that a shopfront, crossing arrangement or temporary construction condition will remain unchanged.

A simple arrival routine is:

  1. Confirm Myeongdong Station Exit 6 as your outdoor starting point.
  2. Enter Westin Josun Seoul as the destination, and check its address or official location information.
  3. Look at the complete walking route before moving, especially if you will be using it after a long journey.
  4. Compare your surroundings with the genuine route photographs or video, where available.
  5. If the on-site route differs from the dated video, follow current signs and recheck live directions.

I have intentionally not added unsupported left-and-right turns here. The final article should contain such instructions only after the original clips have been reviewed frame by frame, with each turning point matched to an identifiable real landmark.

What if you have a suitcase?

The observed 12 minutes is a walking observation, not a luggage-accessibility test. It would be misleading to say that this route is step-free or convenient with a large bag without checking it specifically. The same caution applies to strollers and wheelchairs.

If that matters for your trip, inspect the station’s current accessibility information, the route’s crossings and surfaces, and the hotel’s actual arrival entrance. You may decide that a slightly different route is better even if its map estimate looks longer. The shortest path is not necessarily the easiest path for every traveler.

What this check does not tell you about the hotel

Walking to a hotel and staying in it are different experiences. I checked the route. I did not use this walk to test a room, breakfast, staff service, accessibility inside the property, or room value. I also did not compare hotel rates.

Whether Westin Josun Seoul is a good booking for you depends on your dates, budget, room requirements and the places you plan to visit. Those questions need separate evidence. I would not give a hotel a “WORTH IT” stamp merely because one approach took around 12 minutes.

The useful takeaway

For travelers starting outside Myeongdong Station Exit 6, there is now a dated point of reference: Naver Map showed 656 metres and approximately 11 minutes, and my evening walk on October 31, 2026 took approximately 12 minutes.

Save the route as a planning aid. Check your live directions on the day, and allow additional time for anything I did not measure—finding the exit, carrying bags and entering the hotel. That is the honest promise behind The Worth-It Map: the part I checked is the part I can tell you about.

Seoul, checked on foot. Only the places worth it.
